Spied Gaumont: Original French art nouveau period poster by Philippe Chapellier. Chapellier produced only a handful of posters at the turn of the century, and this advertisement for the "Spido" and "Block-Notes" models of Gaumont cameras (a rare subject matter for the time) is perhaps the most spectacular. In its two panel format, the artist uses two very different stylistic approaches to the subject.
