Gran Paradiso: Nikolay Diulgheroff (1901-1982) was born in Bulgaria and studied in Vienna and at the Bauhaus in Germany. He relocated to Italy in 1926, where he became an important member of the second generation of Italian Futurists. This is one of the few posters he created, promoting rail travel throughout Italy's Canavese region and the mountains of the Gran Paradiso National Park. Diulgeroff's design exemplifies the Futurist ideal of eliminating all semblance of classical symmetry.
Dimensions below are for the poster without frame; as currently matted and framed, the piece measures 46" x 33 1/4."
