Lily Pons: an American two sheet poster by Marcel Vertes, c. 1940's. Pons, a coloratura soprano, performed at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York for more than thirty years. This poster advertises one of her recordings with Columbia Records.

Marcel Vertes (1895-1961) was a Hungarian born painter, printmaker and illustrator. After gaining prominence in France for his depictions of Parisian street life, he moved to the United States, where he became actively involved in set and costume design. He created the original murals in the Cafe Carlyle in New York's Carlyle Hotel.
