Serge Lifar: A rare French Art Deco period dance poster by Paul Colin, 1935. This is a promotional piece for Russian born Serge Lifar, who was the premier dancer for Diaghilev's Ballet Company before becoming Director of the Paris Opera Ballet in 1929. Considered one of the finest posters ever created for a dancer.
Paul Colin (1892-1985) was one of France's greatest poster artists. The pieces that he created for performers remain icons of the genre to this day.
