Dance: French Art Deco period color lithograph by Marcel Vertes, 1924. From the series "Dancing," a portfolio of twelve lithographs published by Gustave Pellet in an edition of 300. The series vividly captures the mood of the "Jazz Age" in Paris. Signed in pencil lower right.

Marcel Vertes (1895-1961) was a Hungarian born painter, printmaker and illustrator. After gaining prominence in France for his depictions of Parisian street life, he moved to the United States, where he became actively involved in set and costume design. He created the original murals in the Cafe Carlyle in New York's Carlyle Hotel.
