Lloyd Triestino - Victoria: The Victoria, known by many monikers such as "The Dove of the Orient", The Ship of Maharajahs", and The White Arrow", was a famous passenger ship of the Lloyd Triestino Company. In addition to being designed with a very elegant and modern feel, including a garage for cars and air-conditioning, it has the distinction of being one of the world's first passenger ships built in accordance with the new standards of SOLAS 1929 (Safety of Life At Seas). The Victoria ran the Far East Route between Italy and Alexandria, Egypt. In January of 1942, the Victoria met her fate. The ship was attacked by the British and sunk by torpedo while carrying aircraft.
