Orizzonte di Sangue: Italian poster promoting the film "Horizon of Blood, the Godless," by Boris Bilinsky, 1942.
Russian born Bilinsky (1900-1948) moved to France in 1923, where he worked in cinema and theatre design. In 1927, he was commissioned to create advertisements for the French release of Fritz Lang's "Metropolis," posters which remain classics of the cinema genre. He was called, in the publication Arts et Metiers Graphiques, "the most famous poster designer for cinema." He moved to Italy in 1939, working primarily for the Titanus Film Company, producers of "Horizon of Blood."
