Treasury Inkstand: A George V "treasury" silver inkstand with the mark of Charles and Richard Comyns, London, 1924. Oblong on bun feet, with drop ringed handles and double hinged covers; two silver mounted glass ink bottles. Marked on side, underneath, handles and bottles. 1,485 gr. silver.

Such inkstands are called "Treasury" because they were first made, pursuant to an 1686 order from the Lord Chamberlain, for the Treasury or the Privy Council.
