Massier Bat Wing Handle Jardiniere: Large Clement Massier ceramic jardiniere, c. 1889-1892. Batwing handles with very finely detailed grape pattern and luster glaze. Signed "C.M Golfe-Juan." Clement Massier (1844-1917) is and was recognized for highly innovative iridescent glazed ceramics. He opened his manufactury in Golfe-Juan in 1883, and in 1889 won the gold medal for his metallic glazed pottery at the Exposition Universelle in Paris.
